This Collision manage to create something that is engaging, and above all, infectiously catchy on The Catacomb Suits. Music which is spacious, emotive, melodic and well written and just hard hitting enough to place these guys head and shoulders above the FM radio rock wannabe indie groups.

With their killer tune 'Blackwater' receiving multiple spins on Triple J's Roots 'N All and Home & Hosed, guitar & drums duo The Blackwater Fever are on track to spread an epidemic of garage blues sounds across Australia.
The Fever generate hard hitting blues, infecting your body down to your dancing shoes! Dense gravely vocals, thick guitar tones and primal driving beats all help to forge their big raw sound.
“SO MUCH SOUND FOR ONLY TWO GUYS!”
The woeful instrumental ‘Night Creeper’ and the tortured screams of ‘Back For You’ manifest visions of a swamp at midnight, revealing the darker side to the Fever’s repertoire.
Inspired by the early blues recordings of Howlin’ Wolf, Little Willie John, Screamin’ Jay Hawkins and Buddy Guy, along with their modern counter parts The Fever will get your temperature rising.

Fire Driver is a rock/punk band based on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia. Born out of the garage, this raw sounding band consists of pounding drums, loud distorted bass lines and punk rocking guitar riffs. Combine this hard edged sounding music with duel or sometimes three melodic vocal chants and you have one huge sound. Its three members have been playing in garage/rock/punk groups for over 15 years and have utilised their experience and influences to create a unique formula. In their short existence so far, Fire Driver has shared the stage with No Opinion (Germany), The Go-Set (Melbourne), Stone Parade (Melbourne), Rollerball , Sixfthick and The Driving Conditions (all from Brisbane). Fire Driver anticipate sharing the stage with many more international and national bands in the future as well as touring nationally to support the upcoming release of their debut full length album titled Dead End River . The band has been described as sounding like a punk version of Helmet and The Melvins .
This three-piece band with members Clint (guitar and vocals), Dru (drums and vocals) and Whurl (bass and vocals) deliver an energetic live show with a variety of hard hitting, catchy but meaty tunes and attack their set like fighting for survival. There are no gimmicks; their sound is dynamic, raw, hard and sometimes melodic. This is original garage/punk/rock as it was meant to be. |

The Driving Conditions (TDC) are quickly earning themselves a reputation as one our country's most promising and exciting Rock 'n' Roll bands. Last year saw the boys achieve some great feats including a sell-out headlining show on their home soil of Brisbane, a Sydney tour opening for rock legends, Rose Tattoo , and performing to over 1 million viewers on Channel 10's, Big Brother Friday Night Live . Next up is the release of their debut album Full Throttle , recorded at Black Box Studios in Brisbane, produced by Geordie Leach (Rose Tattoo) and recorded by Jeff Lovejoy who has previously engineered The Cruel Sea, Resin Dogs, Regurgitator, Powderfinger, Butterfingers and Custard to name a few.
2007 saw the release of the band's debut EP simply titled, Rock 'n' Roll . Aria Hall-of-Famer Geordie Leach from Rose Tattoo recorded the 6 track EP. The music captured on this recording is one very much reminiscent of good old-fashioned Aussie Rock 'n' Roll, like Rose Tattoo, ACDC and The Angels . Geordie's experience from years of recording with the legendary Vanda and Young production team at Albert's , captured that authentic Aussie Rock sound on this recording. The Driving Conditions toured on the back of this EP with some of our country's most seasoned rock legends including roof-raising shows with Jimmy Barnes, The Angels, The Radiators, Dallas Crane and a stage destroying show at The Headstock Festival 2007 (Mal Eastick, Pete Cornelius, Ross Ward). This exposure has progressively gathered the band a huge following down the East Coast of Oz.
The Driving Conditions formed in late 2006 around the long-term friendship between Nathan Ward and brother-in-law, Sol Freeman. Both are second generation musicians, having been brought up on blues based rock music like ACDC, The Angels, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Guns n Roses, Hendrix ... the list goes on. The exposure to this guitar driven, raw, rockin' music has entrenched in the pair a love and passion for this style. Nathan and Sol formed the blues-rock trio, Nathan Ward's Driving Conditions (NWDC) in 2005. The band recorded their rootsy self-titled album, NWDC , in April '06 again with Geordie Leach. The Album received superb reviews amid a great deal of airplay on blues shows across the country. Highlights for this line-up were playing the Thredbo '05 and Blues on Broadbeach '06 festivals.

Imagine The Ramones with Brian May on guitar. Imagine the musical talent of Yes with the energy, drive and passion of a young Paul Weller on vocals. Put these together and you might be coming some way to describing the sound of Sunshine Coast four-piece VEYA.
With influences as diverse as Deep Purple and At The Drive In; from The Cure to Mars Volta, VEYA subconciously drank in the post punk drive, power and energy of the early 80's UK music scene, and blended in a dash of 2000 and beyond US rock to give an almost 'progressive new wave' statement to their songs when playing live and on record.
"It happened through osmosis,' said singer Dom when speaking of the band's musical influences, ' it just seems to have always been there in the background, my Dad playing music from The Jam, Velvet Underground even Love. I didn't realise it at the time but I obviously took it all in.'
With the constant battle and drive within the band testing the boundaries of their music, the dynamics of the songs are pushed first one way and then another; with Dom the lead singer and main writer, duelling with Eddie, the lead guitarist in deciding which way the tunes will flow. Often starting out as punk anthems with Dom sounding like a modern day Robert Smith, Eddie's searing guitar will then take us on a journey through riffs and breaks which could well have come from the early 70's and bands such as Foreigner or Bad Company.
Leon and Skot then cut through the overriding melodies, providing a rhythm section so tight and powerful that the songs seem held together as if by glue, leading to a fusion of musical styles that gives a unique experience and a new sound for young Australia.
Even though only teenagers themselves, with the dash of self assurance and arrogance that youth brings, the cocktail is finished off.
VEYA will be releasing their debut EP 'Trampoline City' in early 2007 on Sugar Spun Music, and will be playing gigs all over Queensland in the coming months. Catch the fire.
